Robotic Implant Surgery

In 2017 the FDA approved the use of the Yomi® (developed by Neocis, Inc.) robotic system for dental implant surgery. Although this technology in the field of dental implant surgery is in its infancy, our medical colleagues have been using robotic assisted surgery for over 35 years. No longer is robotic surgery considered to be in the realm of science fiction, and is being used throughout the country in most surgical subspecialties as an effective and proven modality to patient care.

Triangle Implant Center is the first practice in North Carolina to have use the robotic technology for single implant surgery. We have also used the technology to complete the world's first robotic assisted hybrid full arch surgery. This lecture will review the technology, advantages and pitfalls of robotics in the dental implant field.
